The hardest part is not the money. It is the loss of face. You lose the buyer’s trust — and sometimes the account — over a form, not over your product. In front of your customer, a paperwork failure looks like your failure. That is the pain we are built to prevent: the product is fine; only the paperwork fails.

We cannot promise a shipment clears customs — nobody honestly can. What we do is remove the documentation defects inspectors find most often, so the sheet would pass the EU border document check, before your goods reach the border. That is the honest offer, and it is the whole offer.
Send text-based files — a PDF with a text layer, or a Word document. Not a scan, not a photo. We do not read the text off images, because that step can corrupt a digit in a CAS number, and we will not hand you a number we have not checked.
The one boundary, stated first
We build proof, not promises. So the limits come before the features, not after. Be sceptical of anyone who does it the other way around.
- We do not sell „REACH compliance” as a checkbox. REACH is the EU chemical-registration law; compliance is a legal state that depends on registration and volume. Be sceptical of anyone who sells it as a software feature.
- We do not guarantee that a shipment clears customs. We surface the deficiencies inspectors find most often. No honest party promises more.
- We do not issue a signed SDS. Under REACH the entire sheet must be compiled by a competent person; our draft is structurally complete but is not that signed document. Signing is a separate service, or your own consultant.
- We do not classify or label mixtures. We collect the composition; that layer is still in development. The physical hazards of a mixture — flash point, oxidising properties, explosivity — cannot be calculated from the ingredients. The law requires test data. Be sceptical of anyone who claims otherwise; they are selling a made-up number.

Every value shows its source — or says it is unknown
Auditable, not merely „compliant”. Every value we render carries its own source link and a valid-until date, or is marked unverified and shown empty — never a default, never a guessed value. Each value sits in one of three provenance states — Verified, Aggregated or Unverified — and how we assign each one is set out in full at how we verify.
An unverified field is not a gap we hide. It is an honest edge of the data. When you look at a draft of your own catalogue, the unverified fields are exactly the work that remains — visible, countable, and quotable — instead of a surprise after you have already printed the labels.
SellGate — a block that is enforced, not just displayed
This is the strongest thing the platform does, and the part most often faked elsewhere. If a catalogue contains anything on the EU restricted lists, SellGate does not paint a warning badge and let the product sell anyway. It makes the product impossible to buy — is_purchasable = false — enforced in the purchase path itself, driven by the official lists rather than by an operator’s decision.
SellGate fires on:
- POPs — persistent organic pollutants (banned or severely restricted)
- Drug precursors, category 1
- Explosive precursors
- REACH Annex XIV — the authorisation list
- REACH Annex XVII — the restriction list (including the CMR entries 28–30: substances that are carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic to reproduction)
When you run your own catalogue through a draft, this fires on your products and tells you why — a finding that can spare you a container held at the border, delivered before you pay anything.
We never guess a classification
The hazard picture of a substance can depend on its form. The same CAS number as a gas versus a 36% solution, or as a dry salt versus a hydrated one, can carry a different legal classification. So we key every value on the pair of substance and form, not on the CAS number alone.
When a product name already states the form — for example „hydrochloric acid 37%” — the parser reads it. When the name does not, the platform does not guess. It marks the product as form-not-confirmed, and until you confirm the form it appears in the shop without a classification, without a label, and without an SDS draft.
The classic case is hydrochloric acid: the gas and the 36% solution are not the same hazard, and the name alone does not tell us which is on the shelf. Guessing would put a gas label on a bottle of solution. We would rather ask one question than print a wrong number.
Everything else follows from the source record
Because every value stores its source and its expiry date, a set of further capabilities follows without extra work. These are features of the platform, not products sold on their own:
- Per-substance encyclopedia — a full page for one CAS: 3D structure, spectra, calculators.
- Transport data (ADR) — the road-transport fields are already part of the same record.
- Change alerts — because every value has an expiry date, the platform watches the EU regulatory calendar and warns you before a value you relied on goes stale.

Every product page here is set to non-purchasable, site-wide. There is no checkout, no payment, no order. What you are looking at is the rendering engine, exercised on real substances, so you can judge the output before you ever send us your own catalogue.
Our philosophy is fixed: in chemistry, a false „safe” is more dangerous than an honest „we don’t know”. No verified badge appears without a source behind it.
